The Lab Technician is responsible for supporting laboratory operation using basic technical ability.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Primary responsibilities are:

  • Develop and prepare simple personal care and/or color products
  • Order, receive and organize raw materials, lab supplies and equipment
  • Ability to evaluate a finished product or raw material in glass and a variety of components, under multiple environments
  • Document and report product evaluations
  • Calibrate and validate all lab equipment
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned


The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for his/her position.

  • Education: Bachelor Degree in Science preferred
  • Experience:
    • 1-2 years lab/formulation experience
    • Attention to detail, organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Good knowledge of product forms and textures
  • Understanding/knowledge of packaging and material types a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Knowledge and use of Brookfield viscometers, pH meter, pychnometers, mixers, hotplates
  • Knowledge of Access, Excel, Word and AS400


Ability to utilize a computer, telephone, fax and copy machine as well as other general office equipment. Strong computer skills are required.
